Danny MacAskill and the Epic (real) Solar Eclipse Shot
Back to Blog |So what do you do when you know there is total solar eclipse happening in the near future? On 20 March 2015 the northern hemisphere was plunged into darkness when a total eclipse swept over the continent. World renowned downhill trials rider Danny MacAskill got the crazy idea to shoot a completely unique photo of the solar eclipse and him riding off a cliff. He teamed up with photographer Rutger Pauw and Red Bull to create the epic photo.
Rutger used a Canon EOS 5D MK III and Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM II + Canon EF 2.0x Converter and off-camera flash to get an effective 800mm super telephoto shot that perfectly frames the final image.
