Back to Blog |Cameraland is once again taking part in First Thursdays. We will be hosting some excellent City Varsity student films in our cafe theater. Please join us for a great evening where we will also be having a live performance by up-and-coming Hip Hop act, LYRIX, on our rooftop deck. Doors open at 18:00 and close at 21:00.
City Varsity student short film screenings in the Café
• Better Days: A bittersweet Music Video reminiscing on the days of film and film projection told through the life of a projectionist in one of Cape Town’s oldest Cinemas.
• Trench: A gritty period piece about life in the trenches with a twist.
• Courier: A group of friends are friends who start to feel as if their life is not their own, learn the brutal yet humorous truth about themselves.
• Juices: A couple of best friends with writers block trying to write a short film challenge each other with ideas with hysterical results.
• The Writers: Three friends set out to write their story only to find out it’s much for real than they think.

LYRIX is an up and coming musician and co-founder of the well-known and loved group, ‘Encore’. He is dedicated in educating as well as entertaining the youth through music and specialises in conscious music in the hip-hop genre; yet he remains versatile to fit in any genre with ease.
Join us for a great evening, be inspired by beautiful local film works and musicians, and enjoy our unique photographic retail space.
