The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM is smaller and faster than its predecessors while maintaining the classic lens aesthetic. New design features boasted by this compact model would be the durable metal lens mount and positioning of the focusing ring. The enhanced autofocus (AF) system, optimized lens coatings and STM stepping motor make this versatile lens an excellent option for everyday video or still shooting.
Svelte Form & Silent Focusing
When shooting video, the Movie Servo AF function will ensure precision and almost-silent focusing. Thanks to the STM stepping motor, efficient, smooth and fluid operation can be expected from this lens. Seven rounded diaphragm blades make it ideal for portrait and creative environmental photography. Optimized lens coatings ensure that flare and ghosting is kept to a minimum and the maximum aperture of f/1.8 means that low-light conditions are no match for this svelte lens. A full-time Manual Focus Override can be used on demand when refining the focus position for specific focus applications.
The E-49 49mm Lens Cap and a rear Lens Dust Cap E is included in the box with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM.
