Addressing some issues

One the bug fixing side, FujiFilm has remedied some of X-T1 users’ biggest photographic gripes by adding overhauling its performance when autofocusing with the introduction if a new Autofocus system.

Significant improvements have also been made with regards to with issues when capturing moving targets or focusing in low contrast conditions. Which should go a long way with owners of the X-T1, but is it enough to rekindle the original love affair that began at the unboxing stage?

Not just improvements but something brand new too

Firmware 4.00 for the Fujifilm X-T1 add zone and wide/tracking modes. This allows the user to select a group of Auto focus points in 3x3, 5x3 and 5x5 pattern which in turn helps keep the moving target in focus.

For those you use single-point auto focus it will now device focus areas into smaller sections, to determine the distance between subjects for a better focus accuracy.

Eye detection Auto Focus will now be an accessible feature along with automatic macro focusing. So feel free to assign the Macro button as a quick key for one of your favourite features.

• Grid display on its rear screen and in the view finder will use finer lines (To obscure less of the subject you’re shooting) • Silent mode has been renamed to Sound and Flash Off mode.

• Built in phase detection pixel sensitivity increased from 2.5EV to 0.5EV.

For those eager beavers who can’t wait to get a hold of the software update, you will have to be patient just a little bit longer, Fujifilm will only make it available to the public in June. Once released you can find it here, Firmware version 4.00.
