Cameraland was lucky enough to host a most memorable photo tour on Saturday 21 November as we were joined by Kazuto Yamaki, CEO of Sigma Corporation, and 40 keen photographers on an open-top Red Bus adventure around the beautiful city of Cape Town. The almost-summer road trip may have featured a bit of light rain but even the mother city’s moods could not dampen the spirits of those on board or detract from the breath-taking views!
The morning meander started after a quick registration and coffee on the Cameraland roof deck. We had a few of Sigma’s best lenses along for the ride and these were happily distributed and circulated throughout the trip. Attendees could give them a try and experience the remarkable premium lenses Mr Yamaki has engineered along with his talented team back home in Japan. The first stop was Groot Constantia where the vividly green vineyards kick-started a rather chilly tour. Luckily, by the time we left, the rain had cleared and a sky filled with characterful clouds ushered us to Camps Bay for the next stop. The final stop was Signal Hill where everyone enjoyed the fantastic views on offer. We returned to the Cameraland store feeling inspired by the talent and enthusiasm of the group as well as by the versatility and precision engineering of the Sigma lenses!
